How to Look For Cheap Laptops

How to Look For Cheap Laptops
by Samuel Zipursky

voteSo here we are again with another article about how you can get the best deals on laptops and also exactly what you should be looking for when it comes to buying them. So of course it's a great thing that you are thinking about saving yourself money on this purchase but honestly you don't want to take the money saving thing overboard.
Remember a laptop is not something that you are only going to use for a few months and then move on. Think of this purchase as an investment that you are making to last you a few years. The life span of most portable computers is about 3 to 5 years.

Well the first thing I want to talk to you about is how to come up with a budget. This way you'll have a number for how much you can or are willing to spend. The way I always like to do it when shopping for a laptop is I decide how much I can spend per day for my computer.

So if the lifespan of an average notebook is about 4 years that means I have 1460 days to play with. In my case I don't mind spending 1 dollar a day for my laptop so my budget becomes $1460. This method works great and you can come up with a fair number that will work with your budget. It works every time.

Now after you have decided what your budget is then you can start to look around at different brands and models that will fit your spending limit. I would say that the most important things that I like to for are what kind of CPU the laptop comes with and also what kind of memory the machine has.

When it comes to CPU you're going to want to get a machine with a Pentium processor or any of the Pentium Core family processors. These processors have a great reputation and you can find many affordable machines loaded with this CPU. You can go much cheaper but I wouldn't recommend it.

You'll also want to make sure that you have at least one to two gigabytes of RAM or memory on your machine. This will make your computing much faster and it will save you time in the long run so don't be cheap when it comes to memory on your laptop. If you find a great deal on a notebook but it doesn't come with enough RAM this is something that you can easily upgrade on most machines so don't worry.

How To Find A Good Cheap Laptop : Rent computer Notbook Laptop service

How To Find A Good Cheap Laptop
by Garry Neale

So you want a laptop but you don't have thousands of dollars to spend? Don't worry - there are plenty of ways to find a cheap laptop if you know where to look. Fortunately, laptop prices have actually come down quite a bit in recent years, so they aren't as expensive as they used to be. It's pretty easy to find laptop deals, especially if you wait for sales to pop up.
Cheap laptops are only worth the low price if they come with the features and specs you need in a computer. That means you should look for a high quality laptop at a reasonable price. Purchasing a laptop with the lowest price tag doesn't necessarily mean you're getting a good deal. If it doesn't perform well, it's not worth the money. The best laptop deals usually come from sales being held by an electronics store on laptops that you actually want.
If you don't have the patience (or the time) to keep your eyes constantly peeled for the next big sale, there are better ways to find cheap laptops. You can check out a used computer store to see if they have any good deals - used laptops are often only a few years old, still work well, and come for dramatically reduced prices. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you can find a second-hand laptop that's almost new at this kind of store.
Online shopping is another great way to find laptop deals. Online stores tend to offer lower prices, and when they have sales, you can find laptops for even less. Or, you can go the wholesale route and try to find the laptop you're looking for from a reputable wholesaler on the Internet. Finding cheap laptops isn't always easy, but it is possible. Once you start to know and understand the different sources that sell laptops, you'll become an expert at scouting out the rare finds.
Comparison shopping is also important if you want to find the best laptop deals out there. If you don't do some research and compare the prices on laptops in different stores, you won't know where the best deals are being offered. Again, this only applies to regular stores - if you want the lowest prices available for cheap laptops, you'll have to go directly to sources that the average consumer doesn't know about.
In addition to stores selling used laptops, you can search for online sites or stores selling refurbished laptops. Refurbished laptops are cheaper because they have a minor flaw, or have been returned by customers, and are being re-sold to the public. Stores can't sell the laptops for regular prices, so you can pick up some amazing laptop deals this way if you're willing to take a bit of a chance and deal with purchasing something that isn't in perfect condition. With this method you can buy cheap laptops that are the newest models.
Used laptop stores may offer slightly better deals, but you can't purchase brand new laptops at this type of store. Refurbished models, on the other hand, are new and up-to-date, except for the fact that the box may have already been opened.

Energy Efficiency: Green Your Current Desktop or Laptop Computer : Rent computer Notbook Laptop service review

Energy Efficiency: Green Your Current Desktop or Laptop Computer
by Sam Greyhawk
According to the April 2008 edition of PC Magazine flaws in Windows XP's sleep mode may have added up to $5 billion a year to power bills worldwide. Unless you purchased a special energy efficient model, have used third party applications to manage your power management setting or have manually adjusted your power management settings then your current computer is most likely not as energy efficient as it could be.What can I do to improve my existing computers energy efficiency?Unless you are a computer expert, managing your system configuration for optimal energy efficiency may be a bit daunting. For the sake of simplicity to optimize the power management settings in Windows machines I recommend free software such as the CO2 Saver from Snap.com. The CO2 Saver This lightweight computer program manages your computer's power setting when it is idle. By managing your idle power setting the CO2 Saver can save you energy and in turn reduce harmful CO2 emissions and more. As an added benefit of the CO2 Saver clearly shows you what your personal CO2 reduction has been as well as total CO2 reduced by everyone using the program. How effective is it?To date Snap's CO2 Saver has prevented 607,206 lbs or 303.6 tons of CO2 emissions. To put that into perspective the total savings provided by this software is equivalent to:
Not driving a vehicle for 552,005 miles. Why? The average car with a single driver emits 1.10 lbs of CO2 per mile.
Planting 60,720 trees. Why? On average a tree absorbs 10 lbs of pollutants from the air each year. Downloading Snap's CO2 SaverYou can download Snap's CO2 Saver free of charge at:
http://co2saver.snap.com/ Even though this application is currently only available for Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista based computers it has already shown significant environmental benefits. It's easy to install, is free of any malware or spyware and gives you a constant reminder on your desktop of your personal environmental responsibility.

How To Watch TV And Movies On Your Computer : Rent computer Notbook Laptop service

How To Watch TV And Movies On Your Computer
by Gabriel Adams

Watching TV and Movies on an actual television is SO "last century!" Today, the internet is the ultimate multimedia machine, and that doesn't just mean listening to music or watching the occasional music video. That means TV and Movies online! You'll need to know where to go to watch TV and movies on the internet, and how to hook your computer up to your TV.
Where to Go To Watch TV and Movies
There are three main places you'll want to visit for online video content: TV channels' websites, movie websites and user-uploaded websites.
TV Channels' Websites
Almost every TV channel you can watch locally and on cable now has a website. And more and more of these sites are adding clips and/or full episodes of content right on their websites. When watching local television on TV take note of websites mentioned during broadcasts and commercials.
iTunes sells many of your favorite TV shows for one or two dollars per episode, although this isn't a big deal.. iTunes is also rife with DRM-plagued content, which causes compatibility issues with mp3 players and so on.
Movie Websites
Amazon.com has a section called "Unbox Video Downloads" that allows you to actually rent movies online. Clearly this is the future of renting movies! On-Demand is cool, but the internet is definitely going to take-over in this arena.
There may be other websites where you can watch officially released movies; go to your favorites search engine to find out.
User-Uploaded Websites
One of the main places people are going to watch video is the ever-popular YouTube, whose website motto is "Broadcast Yourself." On this site you can watch videos of every different kind. This includes TV commercials (both old and new), TV shows, music videos, and tons of other types of videos. Generally, movies are rare on this site.
YouTube consists of videos that have been uploaded by its users (people just like you) and the quality is therefore very sketchy. The site is a permanent fixture in pop culture nonetheless and is worth visiting often.
Other sites, too, allow you to watch TV and movies online due to user-uploaded content. The quality is, again, only here-and-there. Go to your favorite search engine and type in "places to watch TV online." You'll find hundreds upon hundreds of sites! Enjoy!
Adapters that Allow You to Watch Local TV Channels On Your PC
That's not all--you can actually watch TV and movies, including local TV, streamed from your computer but displayed on your actual television! Now THAT is the REAL wave of the future!
Many laptop (a.k.a. notebook) computers have an S-Video or VGA output. S-Video is a circular plug with 4 holes on each side and two smaller square holes on top and bottom. VGA is an almost-rectangular-shaped plug which is the same plug you'd use to connect a computer monitor. To see what one looks like, look at where your VGA monitor connects to the back of your desktop computer.
All desktop computers have VGA outputs (hence the monitor plug just mentioned). Desktop PC's may also have other video output types, but it depends on what video card you have. If you have not purchased and installed a special video card (such as one by a company like ATI for example) VGA is probably the only type of output your desktop PC has.
To connect a computer, you'll need to first make sure your television has an S-Video or VGA input. If it does, simply purchase an S-Video or VGA cable and connect to your TV.
If your TV does not have an S-Video or VGA input, it most definitely will have a standard RCA video input (AUX input, etc.). If not, your VCR probably has such an input. You'll need to purchase an adapter. Here are the types you'll need:
* For computer with S-Video and TV with RCA, get S-Video to RCA adapter * For computer with VGA and TV with RCA, get VGA to RCA adapter * For computer with VGA and TV with S-Video get VGA to S-Video adapter
You can simply search for these online or call your local electronics or computer store. Local stores (instead of corporate big chains) are often more helpful than others! Just ask; they love to help their customers find what they need! If you fail by calling one store, call another until you get the info you need!

A Look At The New 4GB Zune Player

A Look At The New 4GB Zune Player
by Lloyd Burns

The 4GB Zune is the latest addition to the earlier models of the Zune player. It is an alternate to customers who want to spend less or don’t want too much storage place or at time want a sleek and small player. It is cheaper than the original 30GB player. And its dimensions are: 3.6” height x 1.63” width and 0.33” depth, its viewing screen is also smaller at 1.8”. 4GB models might seem smaller in storage space than the 8, 30 and 80GB models. It can store around 1000 songs at 128kbs or nearly 25,000 Jpeg pictures or even about 12 hours of video at 512kbs playback speed. Wow! Things have changed over the years my 1992 model laptop had only 40 space, which is 100 times smaller than the 4GB Zune player.
This model comes in many colors and also has ear bud headphones and covers bundled with the player. But the charger for the inbuilt battery does not come with the player; it has to be bought separately. The Zune unlike the iPod has a built-in FM player in all its models. AAC, Mp3, WMA, Protected WMA (audio) and WMV (video) formats are the only formats which the Zune player supports.
This 4GB model is really sleek and small and it is a real cheap buy. 2 of its main disadvantages are the video viewing area and the regular download and upload of files from the computer. Browsing has become really easy on this player due to its new touch pad design. And if you have a wireless network at home then you don’t even need to connect the Zune to the computer, you can straight away transfer files through the wireless function of the Zune just like in all other Zune players. The Zune Marketplace is an amazing site from where you can download music, movies, videos and a lot other downloads. Downloading files is an easy method here, either through Microsoft points or other online media providers or member sites. The Marketplace regularly keeps updating their play list. They also provide biographies of artists and stories from top music and video online magazines.
All the new features of new Zune models gives the buyers a better choice on the products they buy. Choice is what people look for and the 4GB model gives certain buyers a blend of portability, size, easy use, looks and all the features to die for and this in just one player.

Ten Essential Things to Know Before Buying A MacBook Air : Rent cheap computer Notbook Laptop

Ten Essential Things to Know Before Buying A MacBook Air
by James Kara Murat
Business travelers know that there are two essential factors that need to be considered whenever one is purchasing an ultraportable laptop. The first is that an ultraportable laptop should be small enough to carry around whenever one is traveling, and it should be light enough not to cause physical pain at the end of the day. The second consideration is functionality. Most ultraportable laptops get stripped down to the minimum features as a sacrifice to size and weight, but they should nonetheless help the business traveler work whenever he or she is mobile.
Of all the Apple MacBooks available in the market today, there is no doubt that MacBook Air is the thinnest, sleekest and lightest laptop they have at the moment. Any Apple MacBook enthusiast would find the MacBook Air tempting enough at first glance to shell out a couple of thousand dollars. But if you are thinking of getting yourself one, consider reading first the list below of the ten essential things you need to know before you buy a MacBook Air.
First five on the list are the pros of the MacBook Air.
Core 2 Duo processor. The MacBook Air comes with a repackaged 1.6 GHz Core 2 Duo processor specially made by Intel for the MacBook. Sure, it is visibly slower than most desktops, but it is fast enough to satisfy and it will not cause the MacBook Air to burn your lap.
Backlit LED screen. The MacBook Air may be slim, but you would not have any problems with the width of its LED screen. At 13 inches, this screen is bigger than those of most ultraportable laptops.
Full-sized keyboard. Many laptops have keyboards that are too small to be used. This ultrathin Apple MacBook thankfully did not sacrifice the pleasure of typing on a full-sized keyboard just to shave off a few inches in size.
Fast wireless access. With a good router, the MacBook Air can transfer up to 4 MBps of data, enough to satisfy even speed crunchers.
The Leopard OS. The Apple Macbook's Leopard OS is considered to be a breakthrough by MacBook users, especially since it supports multi-finger gestures on the touchpad.
Now, for the cons.
Ports. The MacBook Air has only three ports - a USB 2.0 port, a micro-DVI and an input for the headphone.
Battery. The MacBook Air does not have a user-replaceable battery, which could be a problem if the user has no access to a main power source. With minimum use, the battery life of this Apple MacBook is only less than three hours.
Disk drive. The disc drive is a slow 80 GB 1.8 inch unit. You can upgrade it to a 64 GB SSD one, though.
Remote Disk. This MacBook does have a Remote Disk to replace an actually drive, but it is only good for installing software, downloading data and reinstalling the OS in case of problems.
Separate SuperDrive. The MacBook Air does have its very own optical USB SuperDrive, but it is sold separately.
Considering buying a MacBook Air? Think on these ten things first before you do and decide for yourself if this Apple Macbook is indeed a good buy.
